Solution Focussed Therapy

Solution focussed therapy is a time-limited and brief therapeutic approach. It focuses on making improvements in the present, gain confidence and set goals for your preferred future. This therapy asserts that just because a problem is complicated, doesn’t mean its solution needs to be.

Often clients already have the strengths and skills they need to manage their difficulties but just need help recognizing what these are.

Solution focussed therapy is also committed to what it calls ‘problem free talk’ and clients are encouraged to discuss what is working in their lives, not just what isn’t. It can help clients recognise their strengths and resources they already have to create success both in the present and in their future.

This therapeutic approach can help with a number of different difficulties, including depression, sleep problems, eating disorders and low self- esteem
