I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Southeast London in private practice and in the NHS currently working as the clinical lead of a mental health service.  I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the BPC and am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with the BABCP.  I have been working in NHS settings for over 25 years and gained my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Institute of Psychiatry in 2006.  I provide individual therapy with adults primarily within a Cognitive Behavioural approach (CBT) but draw on a variety of models and therapeutic perspectives as needed, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and EMDR.  I support individuals with a wide range of mood and anxiety difficulties and have extensive experience working with compulsive behaviours.  I have an interest and experience of working with adult males dealing with emotional difficulties, including anger, in the context of life stressors and relational difficulties.  I have developed specific experience in the last five years in working with people with neurodiversity, helping people understand the link between mental health difficulties and neurodevelopmental differences.

In my CBT practice I work collaboratively with clients in establishing a shared understanding of the difficulties they face.  Treatment involves applying this understanding to practical changes that can reduce levels of distress and discomfort.  My aim is for clients to embed new patterns of thought and behaviour that they can continue to use beyond the end of therapy to assist in supporting self-reliance.  I am also trained and practiced in providing person-centred approaches that allow clients a safe and compassionate space to process difficult experiences.

As a Clinical Psychologist within the NHS and I am required to follow continuing professional development guidelines set by the HCPC and BABCP.  I have received training in clinical supervision from the BPS and am eligible for the Register of Applied Psychology Practitioner Supervisors.

I see clients in the Circle Psychology Partners consulting rooms on Zenoria Street in East Dulwich.
