Narrative therapy (NT) is a respectful, non-blaming therapeutic approach that views the client as the expert in their own life. NT helps a person identify their own goals, skills, beliefs and values that can be used to minimise a problem in their life.
NT encourages the client to become the “narrator” of their own life and focuses on promoting a greater sense of control and well-being in a person’s life.
NT teaches clients to become more self-aware and learn how to re-author their identity and future. NT demonstrates the power of growth and change when we take control of our voice and story.
