I have worked with children & young people and their families for over 20 years in private practice and in schools across New York, Australia and London. In addition to my private practice, I manage and deliver a counselling service within a primary school, and work as an Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist in a secondary school.
I have experience of working with children and young people between 5 and 25 years old. My clients have often faced challenges such as neglect, abuse, domestic violence, bereavement, being looked after, being young carers, and youth crime, while others may not know why they feel the way they do. Many of my clients experience low mood, confidence issues, depression, anxiety, self harm, suicidal ideation, or difficulties with school-based learning or friendships. I have particular experience of and insight into working with children and young people from migrant and cross-cultural families, and with children with special educational needs (SEN), twice gifted children and children with oppositional defiant disorder (ODD).
As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I use psychodynamic theory to conceptualise clients’ needs, while drawing upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic Therapy, and Play-Based Therapy techniques to help the client make sense of their inner world and make use of it in the external world.
I see clients in East Dulwich.
