I am an experienced psychotherapist in South London working with children, adolescents and young adults. I have completed doctoral level clinical training at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, London.I am a fully registered member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists. I offer my services to children and young people of all ages ranging from infancy [parent-child work] to 18. I offer both short-term and long-term evidence based therapeutic interventions. I support families with children under the age of 5, I work with adolescents who
struggle with depression, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders, interpersonal and relational issues, gender identity issues, trauma, or neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism or ADHD. I’ve worked with adopted and fostered children and families.
I apply my clinical approach flexibly and adapt the intervention depending on developmental stage of the young
person. I frequently work with parents alone to help them understand what might be going on for their child, and within their parent-child relationship. The trajectory of a healthy development can get derailed for various reasons; my aim is to help children and young people to put into words, to understand and process their difficulties within safe and containing therapeutic relationship. Time and again I’ve learned that paying close and undivided attention to a young person’s worries, fears or confusion is a very powerful and effective way to help them. As a psychotherapist and a person with lived experience, I believe that our relationships are the most important resource in our lives that deserve lifelong investment and attention. In my work I place emphasis on cultivating curiosity, appreciation and growth in this respect – it has been a privilege to observe young minds develop and grow.
I work in NHS within multidisciplinary teams and professional networks around young people, particularly Education. I’ve experience of teaching, offering consultations and running supervision groups for colleagues from other professional backgrounds such as Local Authorities or Health Visitors. My main theoretical background is psychoanalysis – often referred to as psychodynamic approach. I also draw on teachings of attachment theory, child development, neuroscience and early brain development, and current research in child and adolescent mental health.
I work with Aviva insured clients.
I see clients at the Circle Psychology Partners therapy rooms on Zenoria Street in East Dulwich.
