I am a Clinical and Developmental Psychologist who has worked in the NHS since 2004. My therapeutic experience with a wide range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety and trauma. I have a particular interest in understanding the communication and emotional needs of infants and toddlers and in working with their parents to help get the parent-child relationship off to the best start.
I am also always interested in a client’s early relationships and how these have developed and contributed to the strengths, difficulties and types of relationships they have in adulthood.
My doctoral training was completed in Clinical Psychology in 2009. Subsequently, I completed a PhD on the topic of maternal mental health and child development. I have also completed training in various types of therapy. This has allowed me to become a flexible practitioner, adjusting interventions to best suit an individual client. However, what is most important in psychological therapy is the fit between a therapist’s style and the client’s needs. This is paid close attention to in my clinical and developmental psychologist work.
