Headshot Dr Brownlee Clinical Psychologist London

I am Dr Hannah Brownlee, a Clinical Psychologist with eight years in South London. My experience includes working with people with a range of emotional, relational and behavioural difficulties in the NHS and charity sector.

I offer support to young people, adults, and their networks from a variety of backgrounds. Placing particular importance on developing safe and strong therapeutic relationships with clients. My training demonstrates my skills to provide a variety of evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Psychodynamic psychotherapy. I consider myself an Integrative practitioner, drawing on a variety, of different therapeutic models according to each person’s unique needs.

I support clients in making sense of, and helping to overcome, a range of difficulties they might be experiencing. This could include anxiety problems, phobias, self-esteem, low mood, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation and unusual experiences. I prefer to develop a shared, holistic understanding of the situation together. I have experience working in several NHS settings. These include Improving Access to Psychological Therapy Services, Forensic Services and Complex Mental Health Services.

Through trauma-informed practice, I consider any previous difficult life, family, or relationship experiences. This is key in understanding current problems. The belief that present difficulties begin as ways of coping with, or solutions to, prior adverse life events is ultimately the foundation to my practice. Additionally, client’s sense of safety is priority in therapy, and I can make any necessary adaptations to facilitate this.

Training:

I am registered with the Health Professions Council (HCPC) as a practitioner psychologist, and practice in accordance with the standards of the HCPC and the BPS, committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and training.
