I am a Clinical Psychologist in South London with over 15 years experience of working in mental health. As a clinical psychologist I use a range of evidence-based therapies including cognitive analytic therapy (CAT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), and I also draw on compassion-focused therapy (CFT) and systemic principles. I am also a qualified cognitive analytic therapy supervisor.
I know that starting therapy can be daunting, and I place great emphasis on creating a genuine and supportive clinical relationship, creating the best foundations in which to make meaningful change. I will offer a warm, non-judgemental space in which we can work collaboratively to develop a compassionate understanding of what has led to the difficulties you are having. This shared understanding allows us to create a personalised treatment plan, which aims to help you make changes in order to improve your wellbeing and achieve your goals.
My specialism is in working with adults with difficulties ranging from mild to the more complex, including low mood, anxiety, low self-esteem, post-traumatic stress disorder, attachment/childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, and adjustment to life transitions such as changes in health, bereavement or retirement. I also have extensive experience of working with carers of people living with mental and physical health problems, and dementia, alongside experience of working with people themselves living with dementia. Being a trained cognitive analytic therapist and supervisor, I am especially interested in relational difficulties and the impact of early life experiences on current difficulties and relationships. I have experience of working with clients with neurodivergence such as ADHD and autism.
In my current NHS role I work as a Principal Clinical Psychologist, leading the psychology provision for the service in which I work. I am a registered practitioner psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HCPC), and a practitioner member of the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT).
I see clients at the Circle Psychology Partners therapy rooms at Zenoria Street in East Dulwich, London and online.
