Dr Harris is currently fully booked.
I am Dr Daniel Harris. I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC). I have worked for the NHS since 2014, and in my current role as a Clinical Psychologist since 2019. I have experience providing psychological therapy in a range of settings with adolescents, adults and families. In my NHS role I specialise in working with young adults affected by symptoms associated with psychosis, but also have experience working with low mood, anxiety, panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder and trauma.
In my work I aim to use the therapeutic relationship to create an environment where it feels safe to explore the difficulties my clients bring to therapy. I believe that the key factors in this are an open and compassionate style, treating clients as the experts in their own experience and receptiveness to feedback.
I flexibly apply a range of therapeutic approaches to collaboratively make sense of problems and move forward in line with clients’ values and goals. I predominantly practice using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, however also integrate ideas and techniques from Compassion Focussed Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Systemic Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College London in 2019, and have received significant further training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis at Kings College London.
I see clients online as well as in my consulting rooms in East Dulwich.
